About Our Academic Calendar

We use a non-traditional quarter system modeled loosely after that used by a handful of universities. These universities offer a "minimester" in the month of January during which students participate in internships and other special projects pertinent to their areas of study. We have expanded upon this concept and included two "minimesters", one in January and one in June. These short quarters are used for rewarding special interest coursework and projects that would not normally fit into the heavy schedule followed during the fall and spring terms. During the months of July and August, work in mathematics and languages continues, scheduled around camps, trips and so on.
