Exploring the World Through the Lenses of Faith, Time and Science

"He is not yet a faithful servant who bases himself on bare knowledge alone; a faithful servant is he who professes his faith by obedience to Christ, Who gave the commandments."

- St. Mark the Ascetic

Music: Bells of the
Kiev Perchersk Lavra, Ukraine

Saint Photini School is an Orthodox Classical home school in Chicago's western suburbs. We are Orthodox in our adherence to the teaching and practice of the Holy Orthodox Church; we are classical in our application of the Greek Trivium, or three-stage model of education. Our spiritual patroness is Saint Photini, the Samaritan woman at the well who gladly accepted our Lord's offer of rivers of Living Water.

Our mission is to provide a thorough education in the ongoing story of humankind and the created world as it has been expressed through history, language, science, art, architecture and music. In joining the educational process with private and corporate prayer, obedience and worship in the cycles and seasons of the Holy Orthodox Church and rooting it in the teachings of our Lord in the Scriptures and in the writings of the Fathers, our goal is to foster ways of thinking, learning and living that align us more and more deeply with our true purpose - fellowship and union with Holy God.

Thank you for visiting!
